A Bit About Me
My name is Abbe, and I am a graduate of the Bachelor of Interior Design program at Algonquin College.
My passion for design began at a young age when I would constantly rearrange my bedroom in search of the most functional layout. However, it was the experience of a basement flood in my family home that truly sparked my interest in the field. As I interacted with the professionals who came to repair the space, I became curious about their roles and began researching careers in the building industry. This exploration led me to discover my true calling in interior design.
During high school, I completed a co-op at a local design firm, which solidified my decision to pursue this career path. Choosing Algonquin College allowed me to study in the nation's capital, where I thrived both academically and personally. During my time at Algonquin, I served as the class representative and consistently achieved academic excellence, earning a spot on the Dean’s List for most of my college journey. My dedication to success also led to receiving various scholarships and bursaries.
In addition to my academic achievements, I am a certified Building Biology Advocate and am currently working towards becoming a registered interior designer. I am passionate about creating designs that are not only functional but also fun and animated. My ultimate goal is to work in set design for film or theme park design, where I can bring my creativity to life on a larger scale and make the world a bit more enjoyable through my work.
Outside of design, I am an avid figure skater and coach, and I love engaging in creative activities. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing my sense of humor, always seeking opportunities to connect and inspire.
